We know the engagement ring Prince Harry gave to Meghan Markle last November is special: The prince designed the one-of-a-kind ring with Brit jeweler Cleave & Co. using a 3-carat cushion-cut diamond from Botswana, where the couple had spent time, and diamond sidetones that were give to the prince by his mother, Diana, Princess of Wales. But how does Meghan's ring compare to other royal engagement rings? Here are 14 more we love to help you decide.

Meghan Markle

Sorry, Cleave & Co. isn't making replicas of Meghan Markle's royal engagement ring, which is set in yellow gold.
Princess Eugenie of York

Two months after Meghan and Harry shared their engagement news, Princess Eugenie of York and Jack Brooksbank, her boyfriend of seven years, announced their engagement. The wine merchant proposed to the princess without a ring, then the two designed her engagement ring‚ which features a pink padparadscha sapphire in a diamond halo.
Zara Tindall

Rugby player Mike Tindall picked a round diamond in a split-shank setting set with pavé diamonds in 2010, when he proposed to Zara Phillips, the daughter of Princess Anne, and grand-daughter of Queen Elizabeth II.
Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge

Prince William proposed to Kate Middleton in 2010 with the same engagement ring his father, Prince Charles, gave to his mother in 1981. The Garrard ring features an 12-carat oval Ceylon sapphire surrounded by a halo of 14 diamonds, all set in white gold.
Charlene, Princess of Monaco

Albert II, Prince of Monaco, asked former Olympic swimmer Charlene Wittstock to be his bride in June of 2010 with a Maison Repossi ring with a 3-carat pear-shaped diamond in a tapered band set with more diamonds.
Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall

After decades of on-again, off-again and two divorces between them, Prince Charles proposed to Camilla Parker Bowles in 2005 with a diamond ring that had been given to grandmother, Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother, reportedly after she gave birth to Charles' mother, Princess Elizabeth, who would become the next Queen Elizabeth. The ring features a large emerald-cut diamond center stone flanked by a trio of diamond baguettes on either side.
Queen Letizia of Spain

Felipe, then Prince of Asturias, proposed to newscaster Letizia Ortiz in 2003 with a diamond eternity band made up of 16 baguettes. Now Queen of Spain, Letizia still frequently wears her engagement ring, though it's often moved to her right hand.
Crown Princess Mette-Marit of Norway

Norway's Crown Prince Haakon proposed to Mette-Marit Tjessem Hoiby in December of 2000 with a ring featuring a trio of round diamonds in individual diamond halos.p
Queen Mathilde of Belgium

The wife of Philippe I, King of the Belgians, appears to have upgraded her engagement ring. For many years following her engagement in 1999 she wore an oval ruby in a diamond halo with more diamonds on a thick band. (See it here.) But since 2015 she's been wearing an oval sapphire in a double-pronged setting flanked by half-moon diamonds.
Sophie, Countess of Wessex

Queen Elizabeth II's youngest son, Prince Edward, Earl of Wessex, proposed to Sophie Rhys-Jones in 1999 with a Garrard engagement ring featuring a round diamond center stone with a triangle-shaped diamond on either side.
Queen Margrethe II of Denmark

The palace announced the engagement of then-Princess Margrethe to French diplomat Count Henri de Laborde de Monpezat in 1967. Now Queen Margrethe II, she continues to wear her toi et moi-style engagement ring, which appears to have similarly sized cushion- and round-cut diamonds in lieu of a single center stone—plus, tapered baguettes on the band.
Grace, Princess of Monaco

Rainier III of Monaco initially proposed to American actress Grace Kelly in 1955 with a Cartier band of rubies and diamonds. Soon after the proposal, he upgraded to a platinum Cartier engagement ring with a 10.47-carat emerald-cut diamond flanked by four diamond baguettes.
Queen Elizabeth II

When Prince Philip Mountbatten of Greece and Denmark was set to propose to the then-Princess Elizabeth in 1947, he picked a 3-carat round center stone, and surrounded it with 10 smaller diamonds from a tiara owned by his mother, Princess Alice. The diamonds were set in platinum by London jeweler Philip Antrobus Ltd.
Wallis Simpson

Britain's King Edward VIII proposed to twice-divorced American socialite Wallis Simpson before abdicating the throne in order to marry her. The Cartier engagement ring, featuring a 19.77-carat emerald, is engraved "We are ours now 27 x 36." a nod to October 27, 1936, the date the then-King proposed.
