Conventional toothpaste mentioned below something that most of us use two times a day and all-round the year. Do you have any idea about the harmful toxins present in it?
I would advise you to stop using them. There are alternative to fluoride toothpaste which will work wonders for you.
Harmful Side Effects of Toothpaste
Below are some of the harmful toxins which are the main ingredients of all most all the toothpaste available in the market.1.Fluoride

Alternative To Fluoride Toothpaste
While fluoride
is supposedly the ingredient that prevents cavities, on the other hand,
it can be very toxic to the body. In fact, fluoride toothpaste might be
the reason for acne outbreaks around the mouth and chin.
2.Titanium Dioxide
The nano-sized particles of titanium dioxide can cause toxic damage to the cells of our body when absorbed through the mouth.
3.Glycerine
This is found in almost every toothpaste on the market (even the natural ones). Glycerine
helps in giving the toothpaste a smooth texture as well as keeps it
from drying out. The disadvantage is that it prevents your teeth from
re-mineralizing.
4.Sodium Lauryl Sulphate
Sodium
lauryl sulphate gives the foamy cleaning action of toothpaste, but it’s
also a strong chemical surfactant that doesn’t belong to our body.
Natural Toothpaste Alternatives
You can make homemade tooth pas below-mentioned ingredients.1. Dry Brushing

Healthy Teeth
Are
you tired of looking for a natural toothpaste alternative? It doesn’t
get much simpler than this. There’s no need to use anything at all: dry brushing does the job.It might not work well enough for you because there’s no minty mouth feel and might feel a little strange.

2. Brush With Pure Water
If dry brushing doesn’t quite satisfy you, then try brushing with pure water.
It can work wonders in clearing debris from the teeth. Most importantly
you will miss that minty mouth feels when you brush with pure water.
3. Coconut Oil

Coconut Oil As Toothpaste
Coconut oil is another great natural toothpaste alternative. Its antibacterial and antifungal
properties come in handy for mouth cleaning. You can use coconut oil
alone, or you can combine it with other ingredients like baking soda and
essential oils.

Sea Salt As Toothpaste
4. Sea Salt
A completely simple natural alternative to toothpaste is to dip your toothbrush into a fine grain sea salt
and let it do the work of cleaning your teeth. You will find sea salt to
be a bit abrasive, so consider dissolving half teaspoon or so in some
warm water and use it. This will help in making it a bit more palatable.

5. Baking Soda Or Hydrogen Peroxide

Baking Soda As Alternative To Toothpaste
Use a small amount of either of the compounds or both to clean and whiten your teeth. Please ensure that you don’t use baking soda for an extended period as it can have an abrasive effect on your teeth.
In addition to that, there’s always some danger in using hydrogen peroxide with dental amalgam fillings. But if you use them a few times when you’re out of regular paste it’s perfectly safe.
6. Chewing On Neem Sticks
Neem
twigs are commonly used to keep your teeth clean and breathe fresh. To
use them, chew the bark off the end of one of the sticks and separate
the fibrous “bristles” by chewing on the pulp. Clean your teeth using
the resulting bristles.

How To Make Natural Homemade Toothpaste?
Recipe-1
Ingredients
- Half cup of baking soda
- Teaspoon of sea salt
- 1:1 mixture of home-use peroxide and water(i.e. 50/50 mixture)
- Essential Oil
- Flavours – Peppermint or Orange
Procedure
1.Mix the base:
For a basic toothpaste, mix the half cup of baking soda, a teaspoon of
sea salt and a 50/50 mixture of water and home-use peroxide. This will
be enough to wet the mixture and create a paste. Feel free to leave out
any ingredients that you’re uncomfortable with and replace them with
their alternatives.
2.Try peppermint or orange as it will give your toothpaste a good flavour.
3.Add a few drops of essential oil.
We understand that they are a bit costly, but a little essential oil
can go a long way. A bottle of essential oil should last you for a long
time.
4.Mix the
toothpaste in a jar or any container with a lid. Mix the mixture
thoroughly by shaking it and store it with the lid on. Once prepared, it
will be fine out on the counter for as long as you need it.
5.Consider a re-mineralizing alternative if you’re not a fan of hydrogen peroxide.
You can replace it with mineralizing components that will strengthen
your teeth and leave them healthy and clean. You can make a mixture of:
- Two parts Calcium Magnesium or Calcium Powder
- Two parts Coconut Oil
- One part Baking Soda
- One part Xylitol Powder
Recipe-2
Ingredients
- About 1/2 cup coconut oil
- 2-3 Tablespoons of baking soda
- Two small packets of stevia powder
- 15-20 drops of cinnamon essential oil or peppermint
- 10 drops Grapefruit Seed Extract (optional)
- Ten drops myrrh extract (optional)
Procedure
- Melt or slightly soften coconut oil.
- Mix in the other ingredients and stir well. You must use a fork or spoon whenever mixing semi-hard coconut oil. If you are using completely melted coconut oil then stir it several times until the mixture cools to keep the baking soda incorporated.
- Put mixture into a small glass jar.
- Let it cool completely.
- Directions to use: Dip the toothbrush in and scrape a small amount on the bristles. You can also use a small spoon to put on the toothbrush.
