Carolyn stopped consuming sugar 29 years ago, claiming that this is the main reason she has stayed in shape. Although she says it was difficult at first, she's done with sugar and has never looked back. Instead, she uses a natural, alternative sweetner called xylitol. She's now the founder of SweetLife, a xylitol company that specializes in sugar-free products.

Eat Protein


In addition to not consuming sugar, Carolyn had adopted many other healthy eating habits. For example, she recommends consuming protein at all meals to prevent cravings. Mindful eating is crucial to any diet. Rather than scarf down your lunch, slow down and savor every bite! You should also sleep at least 8 hours a day and exercise outdoors (take a walk or do yoga) rather than go to a gym.

Protect Your Skin


Always wear sunscreen under your make-up! Carolyn swears by her SPF: when she was 30, she had skin cancer on her nose. Since then, she's been very aware of the harmful effects of sunlight.

Be Optimistic


Finally, we can't leave out the importance of attitude. Your mind has a huge impact on your body and your life! Carolyn began practicing meditation and gratitude 6 years ago. Since then, she hasn't been happier. Breathe, be thankful for what you have, and live in the present! Most importantly: be optimistic. This simple change in mindset will lead to incredible changes in your life.
