X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter, is experiencing widespread technical issues, with tens of thousands of users reporting problems accessing the service. The outage has impacted both the mobile app and website, leaving many unable to load content or log in.

According to Downdetector, a site that tracks internet outages, more than 25,000 users across the United States have flagged issues with the platform. The disruption follows a similar incident just a day earlier, during which over 12,000 users reported the site crashing.

Users have taken to other social media platforms to express frustration, noting delays in loading timelines, being logged out without warning, and general instability across the service. So far, X has not issued an official statement addressing the root cause of the repeated outages.

The platform has undergone a series of dramatic changes since being acquired by billionaire Elon Musk in October 2022 for $44 billion (£32.5 billion). Following the purchase, Musk initiated sweeping layoffs that saw roughly 80% of the company’s workforce dismissed. The rebranding from Twitter to X marked a broader push by Musk to transform the platform into what he has described as an “everything app.”

Critics have raised concerns that the massive reduction in staff has left the platform more vulnerable to technical issues and security risks. The recent outages have only fueled questions about the platform's stability under Musk’s leadership.

As users await an update or fix, many are left wondering whether these recurring outages signal deeper systemic issues within the platform’s infrastructure. For now, the future reliability of X remains uncertain as user frustration continues to mount.
