LOS ANGELES, June 16 (Reuters) — Action icons Arnold Schwarzenegger and Carrie-Anne Moss light up the screen in season 2 of Netflix’s action-comedy series Fubar, and one of the highlights? A surprisingly graceful tango scene that took some serious practice—at least for Schwarzenegger.
“We practiced. We practiced a lot,” Schwarzenegger admitted in an interview with Reuters. “She didn’t need as much practice as I did, but I really practiced.”
The former California governor said that when they shot the dance scene, the crew assumed they were just rehearsing. But to everyone's surprise, the duo nailed it on the first take.
“They didn’t know we were that prepared,” he said, grinning.
Season 2 of Fubar, created by Nick Santora and produced by Skydance Television and Blackjack Films, premiered on Netflix last Thursday. The story continues the adventures of Luke Brunner (Schwarzenegger), a CIA operative working alongside his daughter Emma (Monica Barbaro). The rest of their offbeat but reliable team includes Barry Putt (Milan Carter), Boro Polonia (Gabriel Luna), Roo Russell (Fortune Feimster), and Aldon Reese (Travis Van Winkle).
In this season, Brunner’s mission takes a complicated turn with the reappearance of his former lover, Greta Nelson, a former East German spy played by Matrix star Carrie-Anne Moss. The two go head-to-head—both on the dance floor and in combat.
“Most of my scenes are with Arnold, so we developed this incredible friendship,” Moss said.
Schwarzenegger shared a lighthearted anecdote from the set, joking about Moss’s love of essential oils.
“She brought this stuff—what I called ‘secret oil’—and smeared it behind my ears before we filmed,” he laughed.
“Peppermint oil,” Moss corrected with a smile. “I’m a big fan of essential oils.”
Whatever it was, Schwarzenegger said, it worked like magic.
“As soon as she put it on me—pum!—we were off and running, just doing our scenes in the most perfect way.”
Season 2 of Fubar promises high-stakes espionage, sizzling chemistry, and the kind of unexpected humor only Schwarzenegger and Moss can deliver.
