Stranger Things star Millie Bobby Brown and her husband, Jake Bongiovi, have revealed they are officially parents after adopting what they described as their “sweet baby girl.”

Brown, 21, and Bongiovi, 23, shared the news with fans in a heartfelt Instagram post on Thursday. “This summer, we welcomed our sweet baby girl through adoption. We are beyond excited to embark on this beautiful next chapter of parenthood in both peace and privacy,” the couple wrote alongside a sketch of a tree and the Beatles track Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da. The post concluded simply: “And then there were 3.”
The young couple, who married in October 2024 after their 2023 engagement, said they are “beyond excited” about the new addition to their family. Bongiovi, a model and the son of rock legend Jon Bon Jovi, had previously celebrated their wedding with the words, “Forever and always, your husband,” in a touching social media tribute.
Brown, best known worldwide for her breakout role as Eleven in Netflix’s hit series Stranger Things, has often spoken about her desire to become a mother. Earlier this year on the SmartLess podcast, hosted by Jason Bateman, Sean Hayes and Will Arnett, she revealed: “Jake knows how important it is to me [to have a child]. Of course, I want to continue building my career as an actor and producer, but starting a family is just as meaningful to me.” She also noted at the time that adoption was something she and Bongiovi had considered.
In addition to her acting career, Brown has branched out into writing. Her debut novel, Nineteen Steps, published in 2023, was inspired by her grandmother’s experience during the 1943 Bethnal Green tube disaster. The book reignited debate about ghostwriting in celebrity fiction, as it was penned with the help of author Kathleen McGurl, though only Brown’s name appeared on the cover. Despite online criticism, Brown publicly thanked McGurl, writing on Instagram: “I couldn’t have done this without you!”
